Diversification

On this farm, we have taken to diversification like a duck to water.
Farming still takes up the majority of the land acreage and is the lynch pin to all that we do.  However over the past 20 years we have renovated and refurbished redundant farm buildings and cottages to create the following businesses, and creating over 40 new jobs.

• General Stores and Post Office in the village
• Butchers Shop and delicassen in the village
• 10 farm cottages let to local residents
• Darby’s Freehouse and Restaurant
• Campsite at Park Farm.

 

• Eleven Bedrooms for Bed and Breakfast Guests at Park Farm
• Administration offices
• Carrick’s Guesthouse at Castle Farm with 4 bedrooms
• Hunter’s Hall Wedding, Banqueting and Conferencing venue at Park Farm
• Carrick Farm Butchers, Park Farm
• Peggy’s Pantry Tea Room, Park Farm

 

With the exception of the General Stores and Butchers Shop all these enterprises are managed in-house, allowing us the flexibility of moving labour and other resources around as needed.

These enterprises make use of, and preserve, beautifully constructed buildings, which might otherwise fall into disrepair.
